THE ED I TOR
Welcome to the
‘Summer’
issue of Livestock Matters
In this issue we have two reports
following the inaugural Robot
Conference, hosted by XLVets member
practice Lambert, Leonard & May.
The event provided delegates with
an opportunity to listen to seminars
from industry leaders and also an
exhibition gave visitors the chance
to discuss equipment in more detail
with suppliers.
As summer gets underway we take a look
at annual vaccination plans for sheep. Iain
Richards, XLVets director provides us with an
overview of all the vaccinations for ewes,
rams and lambs and gives his advice on
timings and planning to make best use of
all the vaccinations available.
We also have a feature on controlling pain
in animals - an area which can be easily
overlooked, but as we see with some
consideration not only improves animal
welfare, but can bring financial benefits
for farmers too. Finally, just to let you all
know, XLVets will be exhibiting at this year's
Livestock Event at the NEC - for those of
you attending please do come and see us
on stand AH-118.
We hope you enjoy this issue.
