SYNDROME?
We are all aware that an obese person who takes no exercise and
overeats is prone to many illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes
mellitus and peripheral circulatory diseases. It is of no great surprise
to find that an overweight horse that takes no exercise other than
wandering around a field overeating lush grass is likely to suffer from
one or two similar problems. Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) is
one of these problems.
